7 things to learn from avengers
7 THINGS WE CAN LEARN FROM AVENGERS INFINITY WAR & ENDGAME
Even the most unlikely bits of media can inform our politic. All of the art in the whole world is reflecting the world back to us—so even in the midst of fatphobia about Thor’s weight gain, misogynistic writing choices (the amount of times men are deferred to and making decisions for literally the ENTIRE universe) and many other criticizable qualities, we can see ourselves, fighting for our world to be better, and be moved by the messages there.
THINGS WE CAN LEARN:
-
OPPRESSORS ENJOY DOMINATION
-
GRIEF AND LOSS ARE UNAVOIDABLE
-
VIOLENCE IS A NECESSARY TACTIC OF RESISTANCE
-
THERE IS NOTHING YOU CANNOT COME BACK FROM; COME BACK TO THE COLLECTIVE
-
EVEN A 1 IN 14,000,000 CHANCE IS WORTH TAKING
-
IT IS OUR RELATIONSHIP TO ONE ANOTHER THAT MOVES US TO REVOLUTIONARY ACTIONS AND RISK TAKING
-
ONLY COLLECTIVE ACTION CAN SAVE US
-
OPPRESSORS ENJOY DOMINATION
